Welcome to the Younger Generation Players.
Description: The Younger Generation Players is a non-profit musical theatre company of young adults, teenagers, and children of all ages. There are classes in music, drama, dance and voice in addition to various performance groups.
Tuition: Please pay tuition on the first class of each month for the ensuing month. If there are two or more children from the same family, deduct 10% from the total. (There are no family discounts on Main Company tuition, unlimited dance, or voice lessons.) If the tuition is not paid by the second class, there will be a late charge of $5.00 for each child. There are no refunds for missed classes. See the brochure for detailed fee schedule.
Shoes: For the safety of our students and cleanliness of the floors, all students are requested to wear ballet or jazz shoes to every class. To purchase them, we suggest Penny Robin Dancewear, 2600 West Main Street, Littleton. Mention YGP and you will receive a 10% discount. Those without jazz or ballet shoes must remove street shoes and work in socks.
Dress: Dress in comfortable play clothes. Leotards and tights are not required except in dance classes, but girls may wear them if they wish. Appropriate apparel for dance classes is outlined in the Dance Policies.
Snacks: Please finish after school snacks before class. Children may eat small snacks in the lobby, but no food or drink is permitted in the theatre or any classroom space. Chewing gum is not permitted in any class. Those who bring a lunch or dinner to heat in the microwave must eat in “The Green Room,” which is the student lounge. If you do not clean up your trash, you will not be permitted to eat there. Parents are not allowed in the Green Room. They may wait in the Lobby.
Attendance: In order to get the most out of class, it is important to attend regularly. If you must miss due to illness or emergency, please call 303-789-4444. If no one is at the studio, please leave a message on the voice mail. You may attend a class of the same level on another day as a makeup. Check with the teacher for appropriate class.
Fundraisers: We need your help!!! Please inquire how you can make a tax-deductible donation through “The Show Must Go On” campaign.
Performances: There will be two musical theatre performances by your class this year, one each semester. They will be fully staged and costumed. We will provide most costume items, but you will need to supply basics such as a leotard and shoes. We provide theatrical makeup for these classes. Please note that the taking of flash pictures is strictly prohibited. You may take posed pictures of your child after the show. Video cameras may also be used but only in the class performances. The use of cameras and video cameras is strictly prohibited in any of our Main Company or Show Choir productions.
Visitation: The studio policy does not allow for parental visitation during classes. This would be very unprofessional and distracting to the children. If there are any problems or questions, please call Peggy Kerr to discuss your child’s progress.
Leaving After Class: For the safety of our children, we require that parents have their children wait inside the studio lobby until they are picked up. With classes going on all the time, YGP cannot be responsible for any child leaving the building.
Questions or Concerns: Call the Director, Peggy Kerr, anytime. If you don’t reach her, leave a message on the YGP voice mail, and she will return the call as soon as possible. Studio number: 303-789-4444; Fax: 303-979-1618; email: ygpstudio@msn.com.
