Classes:
No
baggy shorts, baggy pants, pajama bottoms, jeans, jeans
shorts
or outside street shoes are allowed in dance classes.
Hair must be completely off of the face and neck for
all classes—in
a pony tail or bun; it must be in a tight bun with a hairnet
for ballet (scrunchies will not work).
No necklaces, bracelets or drop earrings.
You may wear a cover-up sweater or zip-sweatshirt for the first
five minutes of class until you are warm. Then remove it.
Ballet/Pointe:
Girls
Solid color leotard—preferably black
Pink Tights; pink ballet shoes (black OK)
Chiffon skirt OK for most of class
Hair in tight bun—use hairnet—no ponytails.
Boys
Sweat
pants or tights and T-Shirt.
Jazz:
Girls
Solid color leotard—preferably black (any style)
Black fitted jazz pants—long or capri length
(tan or black tights underneath if capri pants or for comfort
with long pants)
Black jazz shoes (not jazz sneakers)
Hair back—can be a ponytail if teacher permits
Boys
Sweat pants, jazz pants, or comfortable shorts and a T-Shirt,
jazz shoes
Tap:—basically
the same dress as jazz
Girls
Solid color leotard—preferably black (any style)
Black fitted jazz pants—long or capri length
(tan or black tights underneath if capri pants or for comfort
with long pants)
Hair back—can be a ponytail
Boys
Sweat pants, jazz pants, or comfortable shorts and a T-Shirt
Girls and Boys
Black
tap shoes. Beginners may use black patent, tie shoes. Others
get jazz tap shoes. They must have
a hard
shank—no
split soles or jazz sneakers with taps. Be sure there are
no loose screws. Never use nails in tap shoes.
Hip-Hop:
Same as for jazz except you may wear jazz sneakers.

Never
wear dance shoes outside. It ruins the shoes and makes them dirty
for the dance floor. Always bring your shoes in a
separate bag and put them on right before class. Put your name
in your shoes in case you leave them at the studio.
